Basalt Colorado is where casual meets chic, an intersection
in the heart of the Valley where you can grab a burger or a glass of
fine wine, rent a bike or meet a famous artist at a local gallery. Historic
Downtown, Willits and Southside are hubs for more than 3,000 residents
and a thriving commercial core. Trails and bridges connect restaurants,
shops and plazas with parks, lush gardens and miles of pristine wilderness.
Summer brings our community together to celebrate with
music and festivities from June through mid-September. The
Basalt Summer Music Series kicks off June 18th with Brazilian band Caji
& Salome and home-made chicken dinners by The Basalt Regional
Heritage Society in Lions Park downtown.
Wednesday night concerts rotate between downtown and Willits
Town Center June 18th through September 17th, 5:30-8:00 pm. Local and
regional acts bring a full range of rock, folk, Latino music and jazz.
This summer's performers include Dikki Du & Zydeco, Jimmy Ibbotson,
Brad Manosevitz and Borderdrive. For a full summer schedule click

The 11th Annual River Days convenes
Friday evening and all day Saturday August 15 and 16, featuring
great musical acts, the Basalt Half-Marathon, River Days Parade, Pancake
Breakfast, children's games and family entertainment. Headliners include
Big Daddy Lee and the Kingbees, Wendy Woo and the Woo! Band, and the
valley's own Last Minute String Band. For a full River Days Schedule

Basalt is an adventure every day throughout every season.
Picnic, deli and gourmet fare are offered by fine restaurants and eateries.
Art and art classes are featured in fine art and craft galleries and
through the Wyly Community Art Center, while shopping abounds in all
sections of town, highlighted by clothing and gifts, sporting gear,
shoes, cards, and the best recycled goods in the Valley.
Surrounded by wilderness, Basalt sits at the gates to
the Frying Pan Valley along the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan Rivers,
featuring Gold Medal trout fishing, hiking, biking, boating, skiing,
snowshoeing, and prime recreational activities year-round. The Roaring
Fork Conservancy, ACES Rock Bottom Ranch and the Roaring Fork Outdoor
Volunteers offer wilderness classes and excursions.
Summer in Basalt is made possible
